Of the nine SMF concerts so far, many people have expressed to me that the 2014 Fall concert on November 8th was one of the best! It was packed back-to-back with many of the top talented local musicians – sixty in all. I was joyfully impressed and very grateful at how our community supported this latest community music festival. We had a fantastic and enthusiastic audience of about 400-500 people, even with JBU having their Fall theater production, Ability Tree having their annual fundraiser, and SoNA having their Fall concert on the same night. The venue at the Community Christian Fellowship Church was fabulous – comfortable seating and great sound.
Many who came voiced their favorites afterwards, but the thing that I’ve heard the most has been, “I loved it ALL. There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like.” That’s perhaps the best compliment a producer and the performers could receive. The musicians themselves also loved being a part of an event with so much support from the community, and being a part of a high event with so many other artists.
Next year’s community concerts are in the process of being planned out now. Check back the first of the year to find out more.
