Keyboard & More Concert

October 16, 2014 · by Siloam Music Festival

Berry Performing Arts CenterAtriumOn Sunday afternoon, August 17, 2014, the Siloam Music Festival presented their 1st all Keyboard & Vocal concert. The venue for the event was the new 550-seat Berry Performing Arts Center at JBU. Once again Siloam showed their fantastic support of our local musicians, and just about filled the auditorium. Nine keyboardists and four vocalists inspired the listeners with energy, performing a variety of different selections. In the mix were two 2-piano duets and two 4-piano quartets. The audience was amazing and enthusiastic in their responses throughout the afternoon.

Following is the comment that Anita Burney sent to me after the concert:

Mark:  just now getting around to sending this email.  Want to tell you how much I enjoyed the concert on Sunday, as well as the other 15 people we invited to attend. It was amazing and delightful. The variety was well chosen to meet a multitude of different musical tastes. It was such a fun afternoon, a time to relax, unwind, and let the cares of this world dissolve for a few hours.

The whole concert was well orchestrated, the talent suburb, and selections chosen were perfect. Thank you for all your hard work.  We thank all the sponsors for making the concert possible. Look forward to November and also next year’s events.
JonathanMichael ShumanRegarding the pianists and vocalists who performed in this concert, six had advanced degrees in their field (masters, doctorate), and five had bachelors degrees. To view all the great performances, visit the Latest Videos page. Click here to see the 8-person, 4-piano Finale, the William Tell Overture (Lone Ranger theme).

I want to thank ALL the musicians who had the willingness and love of music to share their talent with us for a most wonderful afternoon. I also want to thank John Brown University, and specifically Jan Lauderdale, Melissa Mitchel, Rebecca Huff and their great team for allowing us to use their facility and provide the audio/video support. They are all true professionals and wonderful people.

See you at the next concert on Saturday night, November 8th, 7:00 PM, Community Christian Fellowship Church, 525 Lincoln Street, Siloam Springs.
